I thought for today I would do a bit of a different post and talk about my recent weight loss and where I want to get to etc etc. There has been quite a lot of people talking about this due to 'New Year, New Me' but I have tried to lose weight (properly) since October.
I think I'm one of those people who always thinks of themselves as larger than I am. I have never been massively big or anything, but especially going to Uni and those booze-fuelled nights, with the next day full of food to attempt to cure my hangover, I put on weight. I understand everyone does etc, so this is normal!
At the start of my final year I intended to lose weight. And fortunately that has happened. From October - December I used Protein World meal replacement shakes (link to website here) to help me do this, I used the 'weight loss collection', which is £62. This would mean that for breakfast and lunch I would have a Vanilla protein shake, then have a normal dinner. I would say that probably once a week I didn't do it for two meals, due to the fact that I was probably hungover, or people were going for lunch so I would join etc. Despite this, I think doing this sort of diet helps, especially getting off your 'excess weight' as I like to describe it. So with this I lost a stone over 2 and a half months, but I understand that's slow, but again I haven't put any of that weight back on even with stopping the shakes, so this weight loss is permanent. The fluctuation in my weight is not as what it used to be either. I would recommend trying protein world shakes, even if it is just to try, as I've heard mixed reviews, but it did work for me. The taste isn't bad at all, and the vanilla one it's easy to add to a smoothie, or make pancakes.
Just before December I stopped the shakes as I wasn't losing much more weight. Since then I have been trying to go to the gym 3-5 times a week, me and my friends do classes which I love, especially Arms Legs Bums and Tums, and Step and Tone. I'm also trying to eat relatively healthy.
As I said my weight loss hasn't been drastic; firstly because I wasn't necessarily that big in the first place, and at the moment I've only lost a stone, but also because it's been over a long period of time. I think this is the best way to lose weight as there is less of a chance to put the weight back on, and since stopping the shakes I haven't put any weight on.
Do you have any tips for weight loss?
Sorry about such a lengthy post!!
Lots of love
Alice
